This plan comes equipped with a drug coverage plan up to $10,000, up to $2,500 in dental coverage, up to $5,000 in extended health coverage, up to 30 days of travel coverage until the age of 70, term life coverage, accidental death and dismemberment. 

Blue Assured®

Blue Assured® from Alberta Blue Cross is available to Canadians of all ages. Retiree

There are six modules for employees to choose from, each module has a different premium, which distinguishes the allotted coverage received. All of the modules have a maximum coverage up to $5,000,000. The plan includes prescription drugs, health expenses, paramedical services, vision care, hearing aids, new parent boosts, orthotics and orthopedic shoes, respirator and oxygen, wheelchair and hospital bed, and travel. Riders include critical illness, disability and dental.

Group Insurance - Blue Plus®

Blue Plus® from Pacific Blue Cross is a health insurance plan for small to medium sized businesses. The plan is flexible, with certain benefits having no lifetime limits. The plan includes coverage for prescription drugs, hearing aids, orthotics, therapists and healthcare practitioners, accidental death and dismemberment, life insurance, ambulatory services, medical services and supplies, and more. The riders include orthodontics, critical illness and disability. 

Group Insurance - Employee Choice® 

Employee Choice® from Pacific Blue Cross is a group benefits plan for small to medium sized businesses with anywhere between 2-50 employees. The plan includes a wellness spending account which denotes how your employees choose to spend the dollars available to them for health and life insurance. Employees will get to choose how they get to spend the dollars, and on what benefits. Riders include life insurance, critical illness, and short-term and long-term disability. 

Business Select®

Business Select® from Pacific Blue Cross is a health insurance for small to medium sized businesses. 80% of eligible expenses are covered, up to $1,000 in a calendar year. After that, 100% of expenses are covered and paid for within that year. Your eligible expenses are capped at $100,000 per lifetime. 80% of eligible prescription drugs are covered, $75 for contact lenses is allotted per policyholder every 2 years. Policyholders get $25 per visit for registered therapists and health practitioners at a maximum of $500 per year. Also included in the plan is a hospital cash benefit, hospital accommodation, ambulatory services, private duty nursing, hearing aids, accidental death, life insurance, and more.

Term Life 

Pacific Blue Cross offers term life insurance available at 10, 20, or 25 years. Coverage with this plan is up to $10,000,000. Should you answer no to all of the medical questions, you will not need to undergo a medical exam. Term life insurance can be used to cover the costs of a mortgage, funeral costs, childcare, tuition, everyday life and more. 

Whole Life

Pacific Blue Cross offers whole life insurance, which is commonly recognized as permanent life insurance, offers an enduring coverage that extends throughout the policyholder's lifetime, with no expiration date as long as regular premiums are upheld. Upon the policyholder's passing, designated beneficiaries are entitled to receive a lump sum payment of the coverage amount, free from taxation.

Travel Medical

 Pacific Blue Cross provides emergency medical travel insurance with coverage up to $10,000,000 for British Columbians travelling outside of their province and is free of charge for children. The plan covers emergency medical expenses, repatriation costs, ambulance and taxi, pre-existing conditions coverage, medical follow-up in Canada, transportation to visit the covered person, and an allowance for subsistence. 

Trip Protection Insurance 

Trip Protection Insurance from Pacific Blue Cross protects the expenses on your trip that are typically non-refundable such as hotel accommodations, airfare, and vacation package. These costs are covered for reasons like the government advising no travelling to the region of your vacation, illness or hospitalization during your trip, jury duty, unexpected death in your family, loss of employment, adverse weather, and a new pregnancy that would cause the policyholder to travel in the 33rd week of their pregnancy. 

Visitors to Canada 

Pacific Blue Cross offers emergency medical travel insurance for travellers visiting British Columbia. The plan includes coverage for hospitalization, doctor fees, fees for a nurse, medical equipment, diagnostic services, prescription drugs, accidental dental care, ambulatory services, return of the deceased, return of vehicle, an allowance of subsistence, repatriation to your residence. Coverage takes effect on the day of travel and can also be purchased within 30 days of arrival and will begin 72 hours after purchase. 

Pacific Blue Cross Health Insurance

Core Health Plan

Pacific Blue Cross offers a Core Health Plan with buildable add-on plans. The Core Health Plan is for residents of British Columbia and Yukon. Benefits of the Core Health Plan includes coverage for vision care, registered therapist and health practitioners, hospital stay, a hospital cash benefit, private local ambulance, nurse care, out-of-province travel that is in Canada, medical equipment, accidental death, a final expenses benefit and a survivor benefit. 

Prescription Drugs

Pacific Blue Cross offers a prescription drug plan that can be added on to the Core Health Plan for residents of BC and Yukon. The plan options for drug coverage are essential and enhanced. 80% of eligible drugs are covered with the essential plan. With the enhanced plan 80% of eligible drugs are covered, plus drugs that are not eligible under the government health plan, are covered with the Enhanced Plan. The Enhanced Plan covers contraceptive drugs. Drug claims are not necessary with the Essential Plan, as a drug card is issued to you, and you only pay 20% of the cost of drugs at the pharmacy. 

Dental Only

Pacific Blue Cross offers a dental only plan that is for residents of BC and Yukon. This option is available as both an exclusive dental only plan; or as an add-on rider to be added to the Core Health Plan, making visiting the dentist more affordable and attainable. The stand-alone dental plan includes diagnostic procedures, x-rays, preventative therapy, restorative procedures, scaling and root planing, prosthetic repair, and routine extractions. The add-on dental plan comes in the Essential or Enhanced options. The Essential includes diagnostic treatment, preventative and restorative treatments, periodontal cleaning, prosthodontic services, and oral surgery. The Enhanced covers everything included in the Essential Plan, plus endodontics and major restorative services.  

Group Conversion

Pacific Blue Cross offers a Group Conversion health plan for policyholders who are ending their previous group insurance within the last 60 days. The previous plan does not have to be with Blue Cross, just a major Canadian insurance company will do. With Group Conversion, 80% of your expenses are covered, with a $250,000 lifetime maximum. No medical questionnaire is required. This is an individual plan that replaces your previous group insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions are also accepted with this plan. If you don’t have a pre-existing medical condition, it is recommended that you opt for the Personal Health & Dental Plan. The Group Conversion Plan includes all the benefits of the Core Health Plan, plus you’ll be able to add riders for dental or prescription drugs, if needed. 

Guaranteed Acceptance

Guaranteed Acceptance health insurance from Pacific Blue Cross covers everyone, regardless of medical history and there is no medical questionnaire required. There are four tiers in the plan to choose from - Essential, Bronze, Silver and Gold. All plans come with 80% coverage for prescription drugs. You get to choose which tier is best suited for you. Some of the benefits include prescription drugs, vision, dental, hearing aids, medical equipment and mental wellness services. The coverage you receive is contingent on the premium that you choose to pay.

Retirement

Pacific Blue Cross offers a health insurance plan for retirees. This plan is for individuals aged 50 or more, for those ending a previous group health insurance plan within 60 days of its ending, and for retirees. The retiree plan is customizable, where the policyholder has the option to choose from four tiers of coverage and benefits provided. The tiers are essential, bronze, silver and gold. Some of the benefits included are vision care, registered therapists, medical equipment, dental and prescription drugs.

Manitoba Blue Cross offers health insurance for small businesses in Manitoba and Nunavut with 3-9 employees. The plan is customizable with core benefits and optional benefits. The core benefits include prescription drugs, extended health benefits, survivor benefit, basic dental coverage, ambulance and hospital, eye exams, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment. Some of the optional add-ons include travel health insurance, orthodontics, critical illness, major dental services and more. 

10+ Employees

Manitoba Blue Cross offers health insurance to larger businesses in Manitoba and Nunavut with 10 or more employees. This plan is very customizable with core benefits and optional add-ons. The core benefits consist of life insurance and disability insurance. The  optional add-ons include ambulance and hospital, dental care, extended health care, vision care, group travel health coverage, prescription drugs and more. 

Employee Assistance Program

Manitoba Blue Cross has an Employee Assistance Program to provide employees with access to counselling and mental health services. The benefit of this program provides an overall healthier workplace which increases productivity and reduces absenteeism and health insurance claims. The services of the Employee Assistance Program includes counselling and integrated work-life services, wellness services, addictions management, psychiatric consultation, and organizational assistance.

Disability Management Program

Manitoba Blue Cross offers a Disability Management Program for employees. The program is designed to assist employees who become injured or ill and need to supplement their income. A replacement income is provided for short-term or long-term disability due to accident, injury or illness. A long-term disability top-up is also available if the employee has a neurological or physical impairment due to the disability.

Manitoba Blue Cross offers emergency travel medical insurance to the residents of Manitoba who are travelling outside of Canada. Policyholders are covered up to $5,000,000 per claim, and at a lifetime maximum as well. Some of the plan’s benefits include ambulatory services, hospital coverage, emergency evacuation, accidental dental coverage, prescription drugs, hospital allowance, and medical evacuation to Canada.  

Deluxe Travel Health with Coronavirus Coverage

Manitoba Blue Cross offers emergency travel medical insurance with coronavirus coverage for residents of Manitoba who are travelling outside of Canada. The Deluxe Travel Health with Coronavirus Coverage with Coronavirus Coverage includes everything that is covered in the Deluxe Travel Health insurance, plus extensive coverage for Coronavirus. The coverage includes ambulatory and hospital coverage, hospital allowance, prescription drugs, emergency evacuation, accidental dental coverage, and medical evacuation to Canada. The plan also includes Coronavirus testing and transportation, quarantine, and  trip interruption due to Coronavirus. 

Annual Travel Plan

Manitoba Blue Cross has an emergency travel health insurance plan designed for frequent flyers. The Annual Travel Plan is for residents of Manitoba travelling outside of the country. The plan is effective to cover trips that are 32 days in duration, or shorter. Some of the plan’s benefits include ambulatory and hospital coverage, medical and surgical coverage, emergency evacuation, emergency accidental dental coverage, prescription drugs, physiotherapy and chiropractor, hospital allowance, medical evacuation to Canada, and international travel assistance. 

Annual Travel Plan with Coronavirus Coverage

Manitoba Blue Cross offers emergency travel medical insurance to the residents of Manitoba that includes extensive coverage for Coronavirus. Annual Travel Plan with Coronavirus Coverage includes everything that Annual Travel Plan includes, plus coverage for Coronavirus. Some benefits of the plan include ambulance and hospital coverage, accidental dental coverage, prescription drugs, physiotherapy, chiropractor and more. The plan also covers costs for Coronavirus such as trip interruption due to Coronavirus, quarantine, testing and transportation for Coronavirus. 

Holiday Cancellation

Manitoba Blue Cross offers Holiday Cancellation insurance in case you need to cancel your vacation or end your trip early, or for missed connections. Holiday cancellation includes coverage for the non-refundable portion of your trip such as airfare and accommodations, one-way economy airfare ticket home, economy airfare to destination in case of missed connection, reimbursement of unused portion of travel cost due to delays.
