Oshawa Travelers Story
Summer would soon set in and many Canadians would plan on making summer travels. Interestingly, a lot of Oshawa residents are already planning their summer travels. When making summer travels, many people only think about paying for hotels, excursions, and flights but few actually consider purchasing travel insurance worthwhile.
A lot of things can go wrong in your summer travel. As you can imagine, when people are exuberant about summer travel, they seldom consider the possibility of its cancellation but your trip can be canceled for so many reasons and some of these reasons could be completely beyond your control.
Paulette Mann and her family are a good example of this. Two weeks before they planned to embark on a ski trip, Paulette tore her knee and needed surgery. As a result of the injury, she had no choice than to cancel her trip, it was beyond her control.
According to Paulette, she was so was so grateful that she had travel insurance. She had paid everything for the trip beforehand, including hotel, ski lifts, airfare, rentals, excursions, and so forth, including 10% of the trip cost for her insurance premium. The premium payment allowed her the option to cancel her coverage for any reason.
Paulette recalled that the insurance company paid back up to 80 to 90 percent of the trip. There are many travel insurance policies available to travelers but as Margot Gilman, the editor for Consumer Reports Business said, consumers should read the policy carefully in order to understand exactly what it covers or does not cover.
Paulette opines that travelers should opt for travel insurance that covers potentially bigger losses. It makes you have peace of mind, knowing that you are not at the risk of losing some money, Mann added. Also, travelers can find out more about their coverage and how much they need by calling insurance websites through their representatives.
