Mississauga Collision Reporting Centers
There are Collision Reporting Centers in virtually every Ontarian city, Mississauga is not exempted. It is required that you report a collision in the nearest Collision Reporting Center as soon as it happens.
Police are no longer required to attend the accident scene for a minor collision. If the collision involves no significant damage, no injury, combined damage of over $2,000 and the vehicles are drivable, you should visit the Collision Reporting Center to report the incident. However, if it involves hit and run, you need to report to the police immediately.
When involved in an accident or collision, follow the standard protocol and when safe, make sure you exchange requisite information with the other party, get contact details of a witness and take a photo of the scene or damage. Before visiting the Collision Reporting Center, obtain the other driver’s license, contact information, auto insurance information and vehicle information.
After reporting the collision in the Collision Reporting Center, you can get a copy of the collision report online through Service Ontario, as long as the report has been filed and processed. You will be asked to provide your vehicle information, collision report number, and MTO collision reference number to access the report and a fee of $12 applies. You can also order a collision report online.
