Kelowna is a city in the southern part of the Canadian Province of British Columbia. The city’s name was derived from an Okanagan language, which stands for “grizzly bear”. The population of the city is 194,882, based on the 2016 population estimate. The city has the third largest metropolitan area in British Columbia after Vancouver and Victoria. Furthermore, Kelowna is the seventh largest city in British Columbia and it is the 22nd largest city in Canada. Kelowna's metropolitan area has about 2,904.86 square kilometers.
