The prestigious winner’s dog award for the 2017 Westminster Dog Show was awarded to a Belgian Tervuren CGH Birch GG Hermes the Herdsman, known as Henri. The dog is owned by Carol Krygowski.

The award-winning dog also competed in the 2019 Westminster show that held on February 11 and 12. The show, which held in New York City, involved top dogs from the United States as well as 14 foreign countries.

The show which lasted for two days comprised 2,800 dogs from 204 breeds. Carol Krygowski, a retired registered nurse, also came with her 5-year-old Belgian Tervuren, Henri. It was indeed a competition of the best dogs.

Carol acquired Henri from breeder Theresa Horky of Birch Kennel based in Norfolk, Massachusetts when the dog was only nine weeks old. Henri has been a constant in her life since then.

Speaking about her dog, Carol said: “he loves people and commotion. At the nursing home, he went through fire drills, the rattling of food carts and laundry carts. The residents loved him and he has quite a following”.

Besides his pretty face, Henri has earned several AKC performance titles which include canine good citizen advanced and therapy dog novice.
