The Smooth Fox Terrier is commonly nicknamed Foxie. They were developed in the late 18th century. Breeders didn’t keep record about the development of Foxie but it is believed that the breed was developed by crossing black and tan terriers with Bull Terriers, smooth coats, Beagles, and Greyhounds. Smooth Fox Terriers Pet Insurance News

Pet insurance could be expensive but some experts say it could save you a lot of money in the long run. There could be co-payments, deductibles and even limits on pre-existing conditions, however, pet insurance could be very useful if your pet gets injured or falls ill.

A Vancouver-based pet-owner Jill Arcand bought pet insurance for her smooth fox terrier, Kona. After three years of purchasing the coverage, Kona suffered several medical conditions including parasites, eye infection, a blown-out knee, and a broken toe.

Irrespective of Arcand’s several premium payments, she still estimates she has saved about $4,000 in veterinary cost after taking the total amount of her premium payments into account.

Arcand said she wants to focus on Kona, not on the cost. She pays about $1,200 per year in pet insurance to Trupanion and the insurer provides 90% coverage to her pet with no annual limits.

Bill Ignacio, a veterinarian doctor from the Granville Island Veterinary Hospital, has a policy for his dog and recommends pet insurance to his clients. He said: “I’m not a surgery specialist, I’m not a cardiologist, and I’m not an internal medicine specialist. So, if my dog needs something that my skill set cannot provide, I have that in place”.
