Kicking Back at Touchstone Resort

Lake Muskoka is a unique area with a mild climate. Temperatures in the summer get up to about 25ºC and in the winter can go down to -6ºC. 

The area is packed with wildlife, too. Enjoy fishing in the streams and catching freshwater fish or watching beautiful Canadian birds dive for their own catch of the day. You can also catch sight of moose, black bears, loons, skink, and white-tailed deer in the area.

Getting to Touchstone Resort is easy. It's located just a 24-minute drive from Muskoka Airport if you're flying in with a smaller airline like Porter - which flies out of Billy Bishop Airport in Toronto. 

If you plan on driving to Muskoka, the drive time is around 2 hours from Toronto.  

In addition, there is ample guest parking for anyone arriving in their own vehicle or a rental car. Also, the hotel offers a shuttle to and from the nearest town so that you can get out and explore.

When the lake freezes over in the winter it's the perfect place to go ice skating! Each season the hotel staff clears a part of the lake so that you can enjoy one of the oldest winter activities out there. Make sure to pack your skates and a helmet if you intend on coming in the winter. 

Snowshoeing is a Canadian pastime that citizens have adored for years. There are tons of trails around the resort property that you can explore. Just ask the front desk for a pair of snowshoes and get out and see what the area has to offer!

There's nothing like warming up by the fireside at the end of a long day of playing in the snow. Each night Touchstone Resort lights a bonfire where you can roast marshmallows and hang out with your friends. Warm up, sing some campfire songs, and make some lifelong memories! 

Touchstone has tons of watersports that you can enjoy. The hotel offers free use of nonmotorized water equipment such as kayaks and small catamarans. 

Or, if you want to try motorized water fun, just let the front desk staff know. They'll help you organize watersports equipment for you to enjoy throughout the day.

If you love playing sports there's plenty to keep you busy at Touchstone resort. The hotel has tennis courts, soccer fields, and volleyball courts for you to make use of during your stay. So bring your competitive spirit and get playing! 

The resort has two different swimming pools available. The first swimming pool is their beach pool, which is the perfect place to play Marco Polo or cool off on a hot day.

If you want a more relaxing swimming experience, check out the infinity pool. This beautiful pool offers stunning views of the lake. 

Finally, you can spend the afternoon at the beautiful in-ground hot tub. It's the perfect place for warming up after a cold day outdoors.

Check out the village's rides such as the Candy Cane Express, the Go-Karts, and the Paddle Boats. Or, simply head down to the heart of the village to visit with Santa.

Santa's Village also has additional activities, such as Elf School, archery, mini-golf, a petting zoo, and a suspension bridge. Or, if rides and attractions aren't your thing, you can simply stroll through the trails winding around the park.

Bracebridge Falls is an iconic area near Touchstone resort. These beautiful waterfalls are located in the heart of the nearby town and have been admired for decades. 

The Silver Bridge spans the waterfalls and is a great place to go for a walk. You'll love the beautiful views of the falls.

If you're wanting to get some exercise, you can walk along a historic route. You'll enjoy checking out signposts and learning about the history of the falls as you stroll along the banks of the river. 

One attraction that visitors to Lake Muskoka can't get enough of is the Muskoka Brewery. This delightful beer-making facility brews up craft beverages that are perfect for cooling down on a hot summer day. 

The brewery makes 19 different types of beers and has a rotating tap. You can either sit at the bar or relax on the sunny patio and try a flight of these delectable drinks!

Don't like beer? No worries! Muskoka Brewery makes three different types of gin which you can either try straight or can drink blended into a delicious cocktail. Or you can opt for their very own hard seltzer.

People who don't drink can still enjoy a visit to this brewery, too. The Muskoka Brewery makes a non-alcoholic sparkling beverage that is a delight to sip on.
