Cuba has tons of gorgeous orchids and island flowers as well as towering palm trees. Plus, be sure to keep your eye out for the treefrogs, dolphins, and iguanas around the island.

The Royalton Cayo Santa Maria is located in the beautiful island nation of Cuba, along the sandy shores of the Santa Maria beach. The hotel is on an island that's floating off the main island of Cuba and is attached to the big island by a single road.

The Royalton Cayo Santa Maria hotel is located roughly 112km from the Santa Clara International Airport. While that might seem like a long way, you'll be able to catch a taxi or rent a car without paying huge fees. 

The national language of Cuba is Spanish, although many people in popular tourist destinations do speak English. You won't have any trouble communicating with the hotel staff in English. 

If you're planning to participate in additional excursions or do some exploring on your own, however, you might want to learn a few key phrases. The farther off the resort you go the less likely people are to speak English.

In general, the service at the Royalton Cayo Santa Maria is considered to be excellent. Guests report feeling welcomed by the friendly and smiling staff. 

On top of that, the hotel makes cleanliness a priority. You can request additional cleaning at any time, and even if you don't, the staff makes sure your room is sparkling clean throughout your entire stay. 

The hotel has three different restaurants for you to dine at. Probably the biggest benefit of the restaurants at the Royalton Cayo Santa Maria is that none of their restaurants require reservations!

If you want to try international cuisine, check out the a la carte restaurant, Eggselence. This restaurant is located right next to the hotel lobby and serves up a variety of different dishes throughout the day. 

Another great option is Senses. This restaurant is an Asian fusion place to eat that serves dinner from 6 pm to 10 pm. It's located next to the lobby as well, making it easy to find. 

The third option is the hotel's beachfront restaurant. This restaurant serves up traditional Cuban meals. Make sure to order a Cubano sandwich during your stay!

The property has five different bars, all of which offer outstanding service. Make sure to order a Cuba Libre, one of the classic Cuban beverages! You can even order one from the hotel's bar with the same name.

The bars include a lobby bar where you can sit down to a welcome cocktail and three poolside bars that you can enjoy while you swim. You can also check out the beachside bar if you want to sip on your favourite cocktail while you catch some sun.

All the pools and the private beach at the Royalton Cayo Santa Maria are adults-only.  

The hotel features two beautiful pools where you can relax and unwind. You'll love the poolside bar service that allows you to order your favourite beverages while you relax in the refreshing water.

If you'd rather spend the afternoon on the beach, head down to the sparkling blue waters and participate in watersports. 

If you want to stay in shape during your stay at the Royalton Cayo Santa Maria, you can easily do so by hitting the gym. The hotel has a fitness centre that's outfitted with both strength and cardio machines. 

Needing some extra motivation to get in shape? Make use of the hotel's fitness instructors! You can enjoy a personal trainer to help you boost your workout.

Finally, the hotel offers several exercise classes. Participate in kickboxing, yoga, and tons of other fitness classes that help you burn calories and shed pounds.

If you can't get enough of the beach life then you'll have to check out the Playa Las Gaviotas. This is one of Cuba's most famous beaches thanks to its sprawling white sands and beautiful blue waters. You'll get to sunbathe, splash in the ocean, chat with other travellers, and it's a fantastic spot for a photo-op! 

Cuba is famous for the many cays located off the main island. One beautiful cay to visit is Cayo Las Brujas. 

This beautiful island offers snorkelling opportunities and motorized sports rentals. It's a great place to go if you want to get out and splash around in the water!

Another great excursion is to take a Catamaran out to Cayo Ensenachos. This beautiful cay offers stunning blue waters, white sands, and plenty of snorkelling opportunities.

You can either go to this beach on your own or can book an excursion. Many excursions take you on catamarans where the drinks flow freely and the party never ends.
