TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card Annual Fee Waived
One of the biggest benefits of this card is that the TD Aeroplan VISA Infinite Card annual fee is waived, in a way. Even though you have to pay it when you first get the card, you’ll get, for the first year, an annual fee rebate.
Under the assumption that you have an Additional Cardholder on your account, this rebate has a $214 value.
TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card Benefits
There are many benefits that come with this card in addition to the fact that, in a certain sense, the TD Aeroplan VISA Infinite Card annual fee is waived. These include a high earn rate in terms of Aeroplan points, travel insurance coverage, and more.
High Earn Rate in Terms of Aeroplan Points
This card has a high earn rate when it comes to earning Aeroplan points. For every $1 you spend on eligible purchases, you’ll earn 1.5 points. These include eligible Air Canada, grocery, and gas purchases. On all other purchases, it’s 1 point for every $1 you spend.
Note that when you are shopping with the Aeroplan Store and participating retailers, you can demonstrate your Aeroplan Membership Card and pay with your card to earn double the amount of Aeroplan points.
Additionally, when you buy your cup of morning coffee at Starbucks, you can earn 1.5 points for every $1 you spend (this offer is only available until November 7, 2021).
Travel Insurance Coverage
You also receive travel insurance coverage when you get the TD Aeroplan VISA Infinite Card. It’s quite comprehensive coverage and offers much more than many other insurance coverage programs available through credit cards.
Coverage includes (with monetary limits) Travel Medical Emergency, Trip Cancellation, Travel Accident, Flight/Trip Delay, Trip Interruption, Car Rental Insurance, Delayed/Lost Baggage, and Stolen Items.
First Checked Bag Free
Another benefit that comes with this card is that you get your first checked bag free. This applies not only to your own bag but also to the bags of 8 travellers or fewer coming with you on your journey. This is as long as your originating flight is an Air Canada flight.
Limits on Point Expiration
One of the most stressful things about collecting points with a credit card is that the points can sometimes expire, which means you have to use them up quickly before they do. You don’t have to worry about this with this card.
As long as the credit card account you have is in good standing, the Aeroplan points you have won’t ever expire.
Emergency Travel Assistance Program
If you have any emergencies when you’re travelling, you’ll have access to a toll-free number that’s available 24/7 if you’re a TD Aeroplan VISA Infinite Card cardholder. This can help make your trips a little bit less stressful than they would otherwise be.
TD Aeroplan Visa Card Auto Club
Another benefit that comes with getting this card is joining the TD Aeroplan VISA Infinite Card Auto Club. Through this auto club, you can get 24/7 roadside assistance if you end up in a roadside emergency anywhere in the continental U.S. or Canada.
These services include towing of up to 200 km, roadside assistance, battery boosts, fuel delivery, flat tire changes, lock-out assistance and extrication/winch service.
Additionally, they include reimbursement for having to be towed from an accident scene.
They also include car rental as emergency transportation, traffic accident towing, hazardous weather services, emergency meals and accommodations, and many additional features.
TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card Cardholder Agreement
The TD Aeroplan VISA Infinite cardholder agreement covers many different aspects of the agreement you make when you get the card, such as Using the Account, Credit Limit, and more. We’ll review some of these aspects now.
Using the Account
You can use this account for accessing your other accounts or ones available at affiliates, cash advances, and purchases. Additionally, you might be able to use this account for any other purpose that the card issuer agreed to.
As the Primary Cardholder, it’s your responsibility to pay off your card. You should also not allow others to use the card. Even if someone else does use it, it’s your responsibility, not theirs.
When you use your card by providing your PIN or using your Card number, this will be considered to be equivalent to you showing your card.
This occurs often when carrying out payments electronically, for example by mobile, Internet, telephone, or mail. Additional requirements for using the Account can be found in the cardholder agreement for this card.
Credit Limit
When you use this card, you can find out what your Credit Limit is by looking at your statement. Note that the Credit Limit could be lowered at any moment and that the card issuer does not have to let you know in advance about this.
However, when it comes to making your Credit Limit higher, they will have to get your consent expressly, as you are the Primary Cardholder.
Unauthorized Transactions
If someone who is not you used your card, you did not get a benefit out of the transaction, you cooperated completely with the card issuer in investigating the issue, and you followed Agreement responsibilities, this is considered an Unauthorized Transaction.
When this type of transaction occurs, you are not responsible for it.
Payment Due Date and Minimum Payment
On your statement, you can see your Payment Due Date. Always, it’s 21 days at least from your Statement Date. Depending on the payment activity you engage in, it’s possible this period could extend. Note that you have to pay your Minimum Payment before or on this Payment Due Date.
Rights of the Card Issuer If You Do Not Follow the Agreement
If you do not follow the cardholder agreement, the card issuer has certain rights. First of all, they can require you to completely pay off your Balance or close your account. When they do this, they’ll also require to pay the interest on your balance.
They also have the right to deduct money you might have with them or their affiliates. These affiliates would include any TD Bank Group member. They would use this money to pay toward the money you owe them.
Additionally, they have the right to have you pay for client basis and solicitor legal expenses that must be paid out because they have attempted to collect the money you owe them.
Ownership of Card
The TD Aeroplan VISA Infinite Card is not owned by you, but by the card issuer. This means they can take back the card or cancel it at any time. Additionally, at any point, they can require you to return the Card to them.
TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card Foreign Transaction Fee
When it comes to choosing the right card for you, you need to know about the different fees you’ll have to pay. If you’re a traveller, one of the most important fees to consider is the foreign transaction fee. The TD Aeroplan VISA Infinite Card foreign transaction fee is 2.5%.
Before you decide to get this card, think about how often you travel and whether this is the right card for you, depending on the transaction fee.
